New Kindle Coming August 27th

30 07 2010

A new, sleeker, and better version of Amazon’s Kindle eReaders is coming out on the 27th of August. For a great $139 price tag, people without an eReader, or were thinking about switching to a Kindle might want to make the jump. The slimmer and lighter model will come in white and graphite colors and have WiFi and 3G options. The contrast on the screen is better to improve its already great reading performance, it has 4GB of total memory, twice as much as its predecessor, and will be a great upgrade to earlier models.

Kindle App Now Available For Android Phones

28 06 2010

It was only a matter of time. On the same day iPhones and iPads received video and audio updates on their Kindle app versions, Android phones try to play catch up by getting the Kindle app on Monday. You will be able to shop for e-books and download ones you already have with the app. Now it’s not a fully featured version as the iPhones and iPads. Searching with full-text and browsing are not going to be on the first version, but on updates to come. It’s pretty basic overall. You swipe left and right to advance pages, press down on the center to check out  the title, and you can even bookmark. Again, though, there will be no audio and video support on the first release though. So although it’s basic, we can hope for good things to come.
