Thanks an Android user under the alias “Birdman”, the DROID X has already been rooted. After being reported that the e-fuse software on it would prevent rooting, it’s already been done. Wow.

Not even out a week yet, another phone is already being noted for some technical problems i’s causing customers. Customers have complained about having their DROID X’s screen flickering and banding, and having difficulty connecting to routers or having difficulty just sustaining a WiFi connection.
Several users have reported on forums that possible fixes to the internet connectivity issues include switching the encryption of the router’s security from AES to TKIP, or changing the router from 802.11n to 802.11g.
Both Verizon and Motorola have already addressed the screen issues in a statement. If a person is encountering the flickering or any sort of issue with the screen, they say, please call either Motorola customer support or Verizon Wireless tech support.
Congrats DROID X owners. Verizon Wireless just released an update for your phone that you’ll want to download right away. The phone will receive several updates which include:
Verizon’s latest Droid star, the Droid X, has already sold out. A common theme with a lot of phones lately, a few being on Verizon’s network. Have no fear though, there will be more for all you Android hungry people on July 23rd.
