Facebook For Android Gets A Great Update

4 08 2010

Just downloaded the update to the Facebook App  for Android update 1.3.0, and I must say, it got some major improvements.

The home screen’s interface got a face lift, where you can clearly see a messages and search button up top. All the quick reference buttons like friend requests, news feed, profile, etc.  are smaller but still look better than before than being that dull 6-block layout, and they left room for possibly two-more buttons to be added in the future. Beneath that, you can see pictures of recent posts by your friends, so when Adidas launches new shoes, for example, I can see them easier and quicker than before than having to scroll all the way through the news feeds. Clicking it takes you right to the post as well, which is also cool. Finally, they added a notifications bar at the bottom, where if you touch it, it rises up and displays all your recent notifications in a clear, detailed way.

All-in-all, the home screen fixing did it for me. The update is a must for all Facebook app users on Android.

Windows 7 Phone to US in November

2 08 2010

Kevin Turner, Microsoft’s COO, has made it official about when we’ll be seeing the first Windows 7 Phones in the States. In a wP7 presentation, he announced that the first Windows 7 Phones will launch in Europe in October of this year, while we will be seeing them in November.

“But you know what, in the October timeframe and in the November timeframe, October likely across Europe, November likely across the U.S., we’re back in this game”.

Talk is great, but let’s what see what they can do with ASUS, LG, Dell, and other manufacturers.

Good luck Microsoft.

iPhone 4 Case Program, There’s An App For That

26 07 2010

Media controversy? There’s an app for that. Apple is turning everything into an app these days.

For those iPhone 4 owners who’d like to sign up for a free case, you can download an app to your iPhone 4 and sign up that way. Once you’ve signed up, you can pick between several different cases for your phone. If you purchased your iPhone before July 23rd though, you have to apply by August 22nd to get your case. And for those who recently got theirs, or are about to, you must sign up within 30 days of the purchase. People who had already purchased their cases and still get a reimbursement too.

Click here to download the app.
